The process in which light provides the energy needed for the reactions that produce the sugar and starch molecules. Over time, as the leaf cells produce more sugar than they need, the cells begin to fill up with microscopic grains of starch, the storage form of sugar

In 1859, this French scientist, did a now-famous experiment. He placed some meat broth in two curve-necked flasks, so that new living cells could not fall in. He boiled both flasks until all the cells already inside were dead. He then opened one of the flasks to the air and kept the other one closed
Who is Louis Pasteur?
A gene is a section of DNA that affects a trait. An organism with at least two of the same chromosome, such as humans and many other eukaryotes, will have the same gene on each of the matching chromosomes. Each variation of a gene is called this.
What is an allele?
Individuals belonging to the same species almost always have different physical traits. THumans have variation: Some people are tall, some are short. Some have pointy noses, some have broad noses.
