Invertebrates and vertebrates have the same needs. They all need food, water, shelter, and oxygen. Invertebrates don’t have a backbone, but vertebrates do.

If the animal has a soft body and a “foot” then it is probably in the same group of invertebrates as the clams.
Why do many amphibians stay near water for their entire lives?
They need water to lay their eggs and to keep their skin moist.
