What Is Light?
A form of energy that you can see. It comes from both natural and artificial light source
What is the Plane Mirror?
A mirror/object with a flat reflective surface.
What is Refraction?
The bending of light when it travels from one medium to another?
Examples of Transparent materials.
Ex. Glass, Air, & Water
The front of me, I'm someone. The back of me I'm no one. What am I?
Mirror
What's the difference between natural and artificial light sources?
List an example for each.
A natural light source is an object that radiates light in all directions. Ex. Stars, Sun, & Lightning
An artificial light source is something man-made, also radiates light in all directions. Ex. Light Bulb, Lighters, & Glow Sticks
What's the difference between The Incidence Ray and The Reflected Ray.
The Incidence Ray is the ray that comes from a light source and strikes the surface.
The Reflected Ray is the ray that bounces off of the surface.
Why does light bend?
Examples of an Opaque material.
Ex. Humans, Walls, Desks, & Chairs
I am dark when I'm dead, but bright when I'm alive and I can't see shadows.
What am I?
A Light Bulb
What is an example of a Fluorescent Light?
A Black Light is an example of a Fluorescent light.
What is the Law Of Reflection?
The Angle of Reflection= The Angle of Incidence.
Fill in the blanks:
When the angle of increases, the angle of refraction .
First Blank- Incidence
Second Blank- Increases
Examples of Translucent materials.
Ex. Paper, Tissue, & Surgical Masks
I can fill a room without occupying space.
What am I?
What is a ray?
A ray is a straight imaginary line that represents the path of abeam of light. It can't bend around ojbects
What's the difference between a Concave Mirror and a Convex Mirror?
A Concave Mirror curves inwards.
A Convex Mirror curves outwards
Is warm air denser than cold air?
No, warm air is less dense than cold air.
What are the steps to calculating the cost of lighting?
Step 1: Convert the watts (W) into kilowatts (kW) by dividing (W/1000)
Step 2: Multiply kW by hours = kW x h
Step 3: Multiply the number of kW x h by the cents/hour
I exist where the light is.
What am I?
A Shadow
All objects that emit light are called?
Luminous (Lu-mi-nous)
How does a smooth surface reflect light differently than a rough surface?
Smooth surfaces reflect light very uniformly.
Rough surfaces reflect light and scatters the image it reflects.
How does a Mirage occur?
A mirage occurs when the air closer to the ground is hotter and less dense than the air higher up.
What is a Bioluminescent light source?
Anglerfish
What is deaf, dumb, and blind but always tells the truth?
A Mirror
