What is kinetic energy?
Kinetic energy is the energy of movement. If something is moves/moving, it has kinetic energy.
When you drop a golf ball on a wooden block, what happens?
The golf ball bounces off and nothing breaks.

Potential energy is stored energy and is waiting to be used. Everything has potential energy.

Something that you keep the same.

What are factors that affect damage in a collision?
Mass, height, speed, distance, force, gravity, environment, weight, volume, friction, texture, durability, angle, materials, and density.

Yes, when the ball dropped onto the glass, it changed shape.

When two things hit each other, one object may get more damage than the other, and they make contact.
What causes changes in the motion and shape of colliding objects?
The transfer of energy between the two objects and the amount of force are what cause the changes

Yes, they do, because the amount of force is still pressured onto an object and changes its feeling very quickly.
How much do you have to push on any object to deform it?
If it had a high elastic limit, you would have to press down on the object more. If it had a lower elastic limit, you wouldn't have to push on it as much.
