These are indoor games that children played with their parents, such as, Pin the tail on the Donkey, board games, shadow games. Hint: the name has to do with the room where they played:-)

Most children only had one pair of shoes, and often went barefoot. Sometimes they wore these, when the weather was dry.

This word means to 'pay' for goods you buy, by trading your extra eggs, butter, or vegetables from your garden.
