Ecology Terms
The idea that what the teacher does affects what the students do.
What is interaction?
All the different populations that live together in a particular area.
What is a community?
The equator, Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn, Arctic circle, and Antarctic circle.
What are lines of latitude?
the external factors that effect an organism, including the air, water, nutrients, minerals, and all other organisms.
What is environment?
Community of organisms that live in a particular area, along with their nonliving surroundings.
What is an Ecosystem?
The area between the Tropic of Cancer and the equator.
What is the Northern Tropical zone or Torrid zone?
Made up of one or more cells, contain water, use energy, respond to their environment, grow, and reproduce.
What are living organisms?
Oceans and estuaries and the organisms that live in them.
What are marine ecosystems?
The area between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic circle.
What is the Southern Temperate zone?
Group of the same kind of organism.
What is species?
Ponds, streams, rivers and the organisms that live in them.
What are Freshwater ecosystems?
The area between the equator and the Tropic of Capricorn.
What is the Southern Tropical zone or Torrid zone?
What is a population?
Rainforests, Deciduous forests, Boreal forests, Tundra, Grasslands, and Deserts.
What are the 6 biomes?
Area between the Arctic Circle and the Tropic of Cancer.
