There are three types of symbiosis: Mutualism: This is when organisms benefit from each other. For eg: insects and flowers. The insect gets the nectar and the flower gets the insect to pollinate. Commensalism: This is when one organism benefits from another but the organism being used is unaffected. For eg; barnacles on a whale. The barnacles need to attach themselves on the whale however, the whale is unaffected. Parasitism: This is when one organism is benefited while the other is harmed.
