What are species

A large group of similar organism

100

What is a mechanism

a mechanism is the natural process by which something takes place

100

How could the fitness of and organism affect it

An organisms fitness describes how well it can survive and reproduce.

100

What are fossil records

It is all the fossils that have been discovered and what we have learned from them.

100

What is symbiosis

Symbiosis is when two different species live closely together and interacts in a way that either benefits or harms them. There are three types of symbiosis: Mutualism: This is when organisms benefit from each other. For eg: insects and flowers. The insect gets the nectar and the flower gets the insect to pollinate. Commensalism: This is when one organism benefits from another but the organism being used is unaffected. For eg; barnacles on a whale. The barnacles need to attach themselves on the whale however, the whale is unaffected. Parasitism: This is when one organism is benefited while the other is harmed.

Whats did Carolus Linnaeus do

He developed a scientific system to classify living things

200

What is natural selection

Natural selection is the process by which individuals that are  better adapted to their environment are most likely to survive

200

What is gene flow

it occurs when an individual with a different pare of new alleles  goes to a new populations and it can increase the variety of genetic variants.

200

What is microevolution

It is small, gradual changes in the color or size of a certain population.

200

What is gene transfer between species

Gene transfer between species is when genetic material DNA is transferred from one organism to another without natural reproduction.

300

What are fossils

A fossil is the preserved remains or trace of an organism that lived in the past

300

What could affect natural selection

Overproduction, variation, and competition.

300

What is sexual selection.

It is basically natural selection that acts on an organism's ability to get the best possible mate.

300

Whats a embryo

It is a young organism that develops from a fertilized egg

300

Who is all of our common ancestors

LUCA

400

What was Lamarck theory

He believed that an organism could change during their lifetime by selectively using or not using various parts of their bodies.

400

What is the meaning of competition

The struggle among living things to get resources like food and water.

400

Which gender mainly decides to choose their mate in sexual selection

Females

400

What is homologous structure

It is similar structures that related species have inherited from a common ancestor

400

What is endosymbiosis

Endosymbiosis is a term used to describe two organisms living together with one inside the other.

500

What is adaptation

an inherited behavior or physical characteristic that helps and organism survive and reproduce.

500

What is the roll for gene expression

it determines how a cell acts.

500

What is Coevolution

It is the process by which two species evolve in response to change in each other over time.

500

What could a sudden change in the environment do to a species

If someone says something about change their right

500

What are designer genes

Designer genes are genes that are targeted or manipulated to alter the gene expression in order to achieve a specific desired trait.
