Burning fossil fuels can result in polar bears becoming extinct because their needs can no longer be met. When we burn fossil fuels it produces carbon dioxide which are released into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere leads to global warming and higher temperatures. Warmer temperatures on earth leads to the melting of ice and causes the ocean levels to rise. Melted ice floes means Polar bears are unable to hunt for food. If this basic need can no longer be met, polar bears will become extinct.
Explain how burning fossil fuels can result in polar bears being unable to meet their needs and becoming extinct. Be specific!

Humans can negatively impact the geosphere. Humans mine landforms in order to get raw materials to sustain factories. This mining can contaminate the soil with chemicals. Humans can negatively impact the hydrosphere. Farmers use fertilizer to improve their crops. The fertilizer washes into streams and may increase the growth of algae. When the algae decay, oxygen is used up, and no longer available for other organisms. The streams become "dead" Humans can negatively impact the biosphere. Humans cut down trees for their wood. This causes entire forests to disappear and leaves many animals without habitats. Humans can negatively impact the atmosphere. Humans raise large amounts of livestock, which produce large amounts of methane gas. The methane gas contributes to global warming.
Choose two of Earth’s Systems and explain how humans can negatively impact them. -Biosphere -Atmosphere -Geosphere -Hydrosphere
