* form when lava from volcanoes cool then haren
*form from layers of sand and mud piled on top of each other then harden
*pressure and heat turn them into other kinds of rocks
These are the 3 kinds of soil.

What is the Water Cycle?
The process of water moving from Earth's surface to the air and back again.
This is a non-living material that comes from Earth.
What is a mineral?
Describe each type of soil.
Clay is packed together, feels soft, smooth, and sticky. Holds a lot of water.
Sand has loose pieces of rock, tan colored, feels dry and rough. Water runs through it easily.

What is the difference between Cumulus and Stratus Clouds?
Cumulus Clouds are fluffy and white and can be seen on sunny days.
Stratus Clouds are in dark layers, and cover the sky like a sheet (often found on foggy days)
Explain each step of the water cycle.
(Evaporation)The sun heats the water and turns it in to water vapor.
(Condensation) Water vapor goes into the cold atmosphere and forms tiny droplets of water which form clouds.
(Precipitation) The clouds become heavy with the tiny droplets of water that then fall from clouds as rain, snow, sleet, or hail.
(Run off) The water then falls to land and back into oceans which then starts the Water Cycle again.
