How does the curve of Earth affect how sunlight hits it? How does that affect temperature?
Because Earth is curved, the parts that stick out more (the equator) receive more direct sunlight. Also, the sunlight has to travel more distance to reach the poles, which makes it weaker. This causes the poles to be cooler than the equator.
