one-sided, lacking a neutral viewpoint, or not having an open mind
What is an independent or manipulated variable?
variable changed on purpose by the scientist to see the effect on the dependent variable.

an explanation of what you think will happen in the experiment

a well written explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment
