100
A standard method of experimenting/answering questions used by scientists
What is Scientific Method.
100
The variable that is found on the X-axis
What is Independent Variable
100
Variables which remain the same throughout the experiment.
What is Control Variable
100
A graph showing the percentage of the class earning A's, B's, and C's.
What is Pie Chart
100
What is the national animal of Canada?
What is the beaver
200
An educated guess that stated in the form of If…then…because…
What is Hypothesis
200
The variable that is found on the Y-axis.
What is Dependent Variable
200
The subject(s) which are not tested. They are used as a comparison for the experimental group.
What is Control Group.
200
A graph showing the number of 5th graders who prefer Coke or Pepsi.
What is Bar Graph
200
What is the 6th planet from the Sun?
What is Saturn
300
This part of the scientific method is where you would find the graphs.
What is Data Analysis
300
The variable which is manipulated or changed; is the cause.
What is Independent Variable
300
The subject(s) which is tested with the experimental treatment.
What is Experimental Group.
300
Which axis does the independent variable and the dependent variable go on?
What is IV=X-axis and DV=Y-axis
300
How many Newton laws are there?
What is 3
400
This section of the scientific method is where you would find the procedures and materials.
What is the Experiment section.
400
The variable which is measured or observed; is the effect.
What is Dependent Variable
400
Why is the control variable important?
It allows for consistency in the experiment and will keep the results accurate.
400
A graph showing the number of ice cream cones purchased as a function of the day's temperature.
What is Scatterplot, Line graph, or a Histogram
400
Where can you find the metacarpals?
What is the hands.
500
What are the 6 steps of the scientific method?
Problem/Question, Research/Observation, Hypothesis, Experiment, Data Analysis, Conclusion

Identify the independent and dependent variable in the following scenario. -Does the amount of nitrogen in the soil (measured in kilograms) affect corn production (measured in kilograms)?
What is Amount of Nitrogen=IV and Corn Production=DV.
500
Identify the Experimental Group, Control Group, and Control Variable in the following scenario. -Homer notices that his shower is covered in a strange green slime. His friend Barney tells him that coconut juice will get rid of the green slime. Homer decides to check this this out by spraying half of the shower with coconut juice. He sprays the other half of the shower with water. After 3 days of "treatment" there is no change in the appearance of the green slime on either side of the shower.
Spray the other half with water=Control group, Spray with coconut juice=Experimental Group, and the amount of treatment=Control Variable.
