What is an independent variable?
Which is the independent variable... How long will it take students in different grades to solve the same puzzle?

a statement of what you think will happen in the future
What is a prediction?
Data that is in words (not numbers) - use the five senses to gather this data

the data, measurement, result of the independent variable
What is a dependent variable?
Which is the experimental group... Will students test scores be affected by distracting sounds in the testing environment? One group gets extra noise; one group does not
