Pan
When one scene is wiped away by another, for example, if a waitress is cleaning a table as she cleans the table a new scene is revealed
Wipe To
When the camera is placed very close to a subject
Extreme Close Up
When the camera follows the movements of a subject
Tracking Shot
One scene transitioning simultaneously to the next
Dissolve
The camera is placed to be the eyes of one of the actors or a subject
The camera movement stops and becomes a still photograph.
Freeze Frame
A wipe from the center of the frame to all directions
Iris Out
A shot that shows the audience where they are
Establishing Shot
A mechanism a camera can be moved around on, typically this is on wheels
Dolly Shot
A transition to show destruction, incredibly sharp
Smash Cut
When the camera is place incredibly far away from the subject
Extreme Long Shot
A quick snap of the camera to the left or right
Swish Pan
When the scene transitions out and then transitions in a new scene, always involves a black screen in-between
Crossfade
A close-up on the subject, not other space other than the camera and the subject is seen
Tight On
