To obey the rulers would have been disobeying God; more important to obey God.

He wanted the Gentiles to hear the Gospel.

What kind of a man was Cornelius?
Gentile; centurion; feared and worshipped God, gave money to the poor.
What did Cornelius and his family and friends still need to hear?
The Gospel, the good news about Jesus.
How did the apostles escape from prison?
An angel came and led them out.
The apostles were arrested again and flogged/whipped. How did they feel after that?
Rejoiced that they had been allowed to suffer for Jesus’ sake.
Why did Cornelius decide to send for Peter?
An angel told him to.
What happened when Peter preached the Gospel to Cornelius, his family and friends?
They all believed on/trusted Christ as Saviour.
What did the rulers do to Stephen because of what he said?
Stoned him to death.
How did Stephen feel towards these men?
