How does an assistant or associate fill out an Incident/Injury Report?
Wipe sand or dirt off before washing hands or toys at the sink.
How to prevent clogged drains?
Squatting, sitting, kneeling at child's eye level.
What position should staff be in when talking with children?
24 children
What is the maximum number of children in a preschool classroom or yard?
Begin passing one food around the table, then a second one in the same direction, continuoing until all food is passed out.
How do we pass food around the table?
Small group lists or name cards.
How do we keep track of where each child is at during inside/outside time?
All pieces in place.
How do you put a puzzle away?
Singing, rhymes, word games used between active and calm periods of the day.
What is a transition?
Children can assist with this, but teacher dispenses this.
Who can apply sunscreen?
Children do this with guidance and support from teachers.
Who serves food and pours milk?
Children should be encouraged to do this themselves with teacher support.
What is wiping their bottom?
If I don't know where a material belongs, I ask a coworker/full time staff person where it goes or leave a note.
How do you help insure all the materials are put back where they belong?
Children listen best when we do this before correcting them.
What is connecting?
These marks are used on the attendance sheet to indicate something-- / or \.
What are "here" and "picked up"?
Chatting about the day, what is being served for the meal, healthy foods, etc.
What should meal time conversations look and sound like?
24 hours fever, vomitting and/or diahrea free without use of medication to control symptoms.
When can a person return to school after being sick?
I can take one type of animals, vehichles, blocks, etc at a time to set up an activity.
How do I prevent materials from getting mixed up?
Sharing positive information about the day.
What types of things can part time staff communicate with parents?
Inside the office, getting cooking materials or laundry supplies.
What spaces would make a teacher out of classroom ratio?
Children sit on their bottom, feet under the table and chair is scooted up close to the table.
How to prevent so many spills?
This should be done when eating your own food at meals or to do another task beside food service.
When do you remove food service gloves?
First wipe or brush off as much sand as possible, then wash hands at the sink.
