When can warrant be used?

What are some exceptions to search laws?
Under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, a warrant is not needed if there is a reasonable belief that a place has illegal drugs. Under provincial liquor laws, police may search a vehicle for illegal alcohol without a warrant.
What should an officer do if the evidence was received by an informer?
The officer must outline to the court why the informer is reliable before a warrant is issued.
