Proactive means planning ahead and trying to prevent problems before they start. Proactive people take initiative and make things happen. Reactive means responding to problems as they happen, impulsively, and often without thinking first. Reactive people tend to not have a great plan to solve problems.

Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood: is the habit of listening to other people's ideas and feelings. It's trying to see things from their viewpoints. Listen to others without interrupting. It's about being confident in voicing your ideas. Exp: Listening and giving other people space to express themselves.
