I allow you to come on the campus of a college or university you are interested in so that you can view it to help you make your decision on which school to choose.

I am something you take to assess your academic readiness for college-level work. I measure your skills in areas such as reading comprehension, mathematics, and critical thinking.  I am one of the requirements for submitting a college application. You usually have to pay a fee to take me but can get the fee waived your first time.

What is standardized testing/ACT/SAT?

I am free money that you can get by completing an application and writing an essay.  I help minimize or cover the costs of your education.

What are grants/scholarships?

You can take me to evaluate your academic strengths, skills, and abilities to determine which majors align with your strengths and interests. You can find and take me online or speak with a career counselor.

I am money that you can get up front to pay for school but you have to pay me back later with interest. I am a viable option if you don’t have enough money to cover schooling through grants, scholarships, etc. You can get me on your own or get one with your parents.

What are student/parent loans?

You can pursue me in addition to your college major to combine your interests and expand your skill set. I should complement your major and enhance your academic and career prospects.

What is a college minor/dual major?

Strengthening me will help you prepare for your essays and personal statements that you will have to do when applying for college and scholarships.  You can strengthen me in English class, through journaling, and by doing assignments. I am a type of skill.

My type of institution focuses on providing education primarily to Black students.  The first of my kind was founded in 1837 and we are affordable and offer a lot of full scholarships! People love coming to my games and homecomings.

What are Historically Black Colleges and/or Universities (HBCU)?

You are charged me when you apply to a college or university.  I typically range from $50-$125 and you can often get a waiver to cover me if you demonstrate financial need.
