Main difference: Public universities and colleges are funded/founded by the government whereas private institutions are privately funded - these affect tuition prices for students which is why private school is more expensive.
What is the difference between a loan and a grant?
A loan is money an organization or lender lets you borrow with the intention of being paid back and a grant is money given to you by the government without any intention of being paid back.
