Choosing a place to start a civilization that can be advantageous or disadvantageous for it. For example there could be good soil to have successful crops, or there could be a desert with no rain, so not a lot of crops could be grown well.

History is based on facts. Memory is different because people can have different points of view, and opinions on their memory of an event. History is studied by historians, but memory can be shared by anyone, not specifically a historian.

Hinduism: believe in reincarnation. Believe in dharma and karma. Dharma is fulfillment of one's moral duty in life. Karma is the positive or negative force caused by a person's actions, and it will determine their status in the next life. Buddhism: Believe in the Four Noble Truths: All life involves suffering, the desire for life of pleasure causes suffering, taking away desire stops suffering, the Eightfold Path leads to denial of desire, and the attainment of nirvana.

Asoka didn't like the thought of battle and war so he became a Buddhist. At this time, other Indian people converted to Buddhism. He set up stone pillars inscribed with his laws in public places, he pardoned prisoners, and forbid animal sacrifices.

There can be conflict caused because of trade. If two civilizations or empires want the same resources which come from one trade source, there will probably be conflict for the resource.

Geography controls which crops will be successful for Mesopotamia. The geography is also responsible for the animals' health. If the animals are not healthy, the farmers will not have success with trading. The geography affected the conquests that China could make. Shi Huangdi had armies headed toward the south and he ended up capturing the southern part of China. This was able to occur because the geography was in the favor of the people; there were not many barriers between lands.

For example, the Roman Empire was built near sea trade, so ships from other countries could carry their goods to Rome to trade Trade influenced the rise of empires: If there were already good trading systems, and there was a small civilization, they could gain a lot of resources from trade and develop into a big empire.

Why do people fight?
Fighting and conflict occurs between people because of religious differences, the wanting of power. and politics. For example, in the Crusades, there was conflict because Muslims and Christians both wanted the Holy Land of Jerusalem. Some people thought that if they fought and killed people of a different religion, they would go to heaven. World War 2 occurred because of power. Hitler wanted more power, so he wanted to expand Germany. To do this, he killed Jews so he could have control of their land. In the 30 Years War, conflict happened because of politics. The pope wanted more power, and so he taxed the people for the church so he could gain more power.

The people who believe in this religion believe in the Trinity, and follow the Bible. They think that Christ will return in the future, and that God created the world in seven days. Believe in the afterlife; you either go to heaven or hell.

Could not inherit land. Some women could have a high place in ritual events and religious life. Spartan: No participation in political life. Had more independence than women in other parts of Greece. Girls were educated in reading, writing, and athletics. Women could inherit property, and could control their own property. But their goal was to have healthy children.

Yes. The people could survive on their own. They built their own housing, and made many advancements. They invented paper and printing. They had religions like Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism. They had social classes, and a government.

How did Babylonians and the Qin Dynasty use trade to their advantage?
They both used the Silk Road to trade with other countries. Babylon had many resources from agriculture, but they didn't have natural resources. Therefore, they traded with others for metals and precious stones. The Qin Dynasty didn't need as many resources, but Shi Huangdi wanted a lot of power, so he traded to get power and wealth. With the resources from trade, the Qin were able to make many new tools which helped the people's lives.
