What is a protagonist?
The person who is most dynamic and changes in a story (the main character).
What is mythology?
The study of myths.
When does a dystopia take place?
Sometime in the near future.
What is irony?
When the opposite of what is expected occurs, making it comical.
What is a minotaur?
Half-man, half-bull
What is a quality a dystopian protagonist has?
Any of the following will work...
- he often feels trapped and is struggling to escape
- questions the existing social and political systems.
- believes or feels that something is terribly wrong with the society
- helps the audience recognizes the negative aspects of the dystopian world
What is an allusion?
An indirect reference to something.
What is nemesis?
Punishment by the gods.
What is a utopia?
The opposite of a dystopia. A society under the illusion of perfection.
What is theme?
The moral, lesson, or message of a story.
What is hubris?
Having too much pride or self confidence.
What is a characteristic that a dystopian government MUST have?
It must oppress its peeople.
What is an inference?
When information is implied in a story.
