Principal Parts
A word which modifies a noun
Adjective
A word which replaces a noun, often to avoid repetition
Personal Pronouns
An action, shows or tells an action, what the subject is doing
Predicate Verb
An objective noun which receives the action that the subject is doing
Direct Object
A word which modifies a verb
Adverb
Singular and Plural
Number
A verb that adds to the meaning of the main verb and is used along with it
Helping Verb
An objective element receiving what the direct object or what the direct object names. It is a noun or pronoun which sits in between the verb and the direct object
Indirect Object
A word which shows a relationship between another word or phrase
Preposition (Alt. Prepositional Phrase)
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Person
Person
A verb which links the subject to something in the predicate, such as a Predicate Nominative or Adjective
Linking Verb
A word which joins to words, phrases, or clauses together
Conjunction
A noun which comes after a preposition and concludes the prepositional phrase
Object of the Preposition
Masculine, Feminine, Nueter
Gender
A word which renames the subject, is used with a linking verb
Predicate Nominative
A word which describes the quality of the subject, is used with a linking verb
Predicate Adjective
Subjective, Objective, Possessive
