These are some ways Germans culture was targeted during and after the war.
Some states said you can't use German language in public places or schools. Many states restricted teaching foreign languages. Popular German words were changed. Some places banned German music.
What were examples of "coercive patriotism"?
Kiss the flag in public, outlawing red or black flags, commissions to root out disloyalty, teachers had to sign loyalty oaths...
The Versailles Treaty punished Germany in these ways. Name at least 1.
Germany had to assume all the guilt for the war. Germany had to pay reparations for the war. Germany lost all its colonies.
Two amendments were passed shortly after the war, in 1919 and 1920. What are the numbers of these two amendments, and what did each one do?
19th amendment - gave women the right to vote
