What is the rule of 3's? And why is it important?

For an additional 100 points, give an example.

The rule suggests that when decorating/accessorizing (on tabletops especially), odd-numbered groupings especially create visual interest as opposed to even numbered groupings. 1 is generally too few, and 5 or 7 run the risk of looking cluttered. 3 is the ideal. They should differ from one another enough to add interest, but should pull a common color or feature to look like they were placed with purpose and not haphazardly.

It's generally found in accessories and decor.
