What is a complex sentence?
A complex sentence is a sentence that contains one independent clause and at least one dependent clause.
What is an independent clause?
A sentence that can stand on its own.
What is a dependent clause?
An incomplete sentence
Something that cannot stand on its own
Something that does not express a complete thought
Write an infinitive phrase.
Ex: to run
What does FANBOYS stand for?
for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
Write a complex sentence with the dependent clause at the beginning.
Ex: While the villain celebration was at its peak, Batman silently dropped from the ceiling.
Identify which part of the sentence is the independent clause: Although the alarm clock rang loudly, Jason stayed fast asleep under his warm blankets. In addition, identify at least one adjective within the clause.
