What is a noun?
A word used to connect clauses.
What is a conjunction?
A group of words that express a complete thought typically and usually have a subject and predicate.
Ex: Eating the tomatoes
What is a clause?
Two or more independent clauses joined by a conjunction.
Ex: My brother is fast and my sister is a good swimmer.
What is a compound sentence?
A word used to describe an action or state of being.

This punctuation mark is needed when using conjunctions.

What is a dependent clause?
Look at the italicized portion of the example, identify the sentence and the type of clause.
Ex: After the party, my friends and I went to get slushies.
What is a complex sentence and a dependent clause?
Look at the sentence below. Which part is the subject and which is the predicate? (does not need to be in the what is format)
EX: The little sister was taking my toys.
Subject: the little sister
Predicate: Was taking my toys.
