What is a food desert?
Food deserts are areas, often low-income and underserved, where access to affordable and nutritious food, particularly fresh produce, is limited or nonexistent, leading to potential health issues
How does the climate crisis impact food insecurity?
The climate crisis is one of the leading causes of the steep rise in global hunger. Climate shocks destroy lives, crops and livelihoods, and undermine people’s ability to feed themselves. Hunger will spiral out of control if the world fails to take immediate climate action.
What is the difference between charity, volunteering, and service-learning.
Charity: is the act of giving money or goods to those in need,
Volunteering: Volunteering is the act of providing unpaid time and effort to help others or a cause.
Service-Learning: is an educational approach that combines community service with academic learning, fostering civic responsibility and allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world issues through meaningful service experiences
