Character that changes throughout the story
Events that follow the climax and ultimately lead to the resoultion
What is the falling action?
Struggle regarding the rules and and laws of a particular environment
What is character vs. society?
Character that does not change throughout the story
What is a static character?
The sheep went "baaa"
General emotions or feelings the author creates throughout the story
Ex: humorous, suspenseful
What is mood?
Plot component where characters, setting, and conflict are introduced
What is the exposition?
Ex: Tim struggles with the constant pressure of living up to his dad's reputation as a professional football player. He feels as though it's his destiny to also become a pro athlete.
What is character vs. fate?
The main character. Often the hero of the story
What is the protagonist?
I've told you to clean your room a million times
What is a hyperbole?
Refers to the central idea/lesson that the author is trying to teach the audience. Typically not stated directed
