Every event has a connection to another event, as memory is a finely woven fabric of intricate connections.  To recall an event, a truthful person need not start at any particular point in their memory.  They can start anywhere and go forward or backward without difficulty.

Conversely, fiction is created out of thin air.  It has no association with real history or fact.  It is created in one direction.
