What is QAR and how is it helpful?
Question, Answer, Relationship
Helps you learn how to answer different types of questions and how to make connections to the text.
Explain the difference between 5W questions and higher-level thinking questions.
-The length of a 5W response is about a sentence, whereas a higher-level thinking question is significantly longer and is often supported with textual evidence.
-5W questions are often literal or "right there"; higher-level thinking questions require analysis
Why is it important to fine tune the QSIL trait of self reflection?
Self reflection helps you to review what you did well and what we need to work on. Also, it helps you when you need to effectively problem solve by looking back on what you tried (what worked, what didn't...). Also, the more accurate your self reflection, the more easily you can change to help yourself as a student. (Example: I have trouble turning in work on time, so I set up a schedule for work when I am home.)
For all students for bonus points:
On this index card, write how you have grown over time this year in terms of your academic skills.
