This character has a celebrity crush on Emerald, and they have dueled once. They use SLAY as a method of escape to get away from their abusive parents.
Jaylen (How they would answer: “Who is Jaylen?”)
This is where SLAY primarily takes place, and where Kiera and her family live. The "where" of the book.

This character is a French-Italian, who moderates SLAY, handles its servers, and deeply trusts Kiera. They have two mini-chapters, as opposed to one, and their in-game name is Cicada.
Claire (How they would answer: “Who is Claire?”)
This character is French, but resides in Beijing, China. Their in-game name is Spade, and they were the one who encouraged Kiera. They run a black gaming company, which Kiera plans to partner with.
Maurice (How they would answer: “Who is Maurice?”)
This is where Claire lives, and where Kiera plans to move to at the end of her book.

This character is the one behind Dred, who challenged the ruling of SLAY, and ended up with nothing but a broken relationship and a restraining order.
Malcom (How they would answer: “Who is Malcom?”)
This character was convinced to try out SLAY, and believes that if people choose to play online multiplayer games, they deserve a safe space.
Dr. John Abbott (How they would answer: “Who is Dr. John Abbott?” or other shortenings work, like Abbott)
