The life we now live is no longer our own; it is Christ living through us.

God wants to show grace more than He wants to give judgement. His way of giving grace is through what Christ had done. God loves us and wants us. He wants us to be with Him forever.

No. Much of the New Testament teaches that we cannot choose sin and our own way of we are to be those who are truly saved. We are saved by faith alone, but the way we live will now be changed by the Holy Spirit. We will live as slaves of righteousness rather than slaves of sin. We will live as God's children rather than children to our desires.
