What is the main reason for doing practice dialogue?
Practice dialogues are not intended to completely “cover” a chosen topic, but instead to discuss it enough for the facilitators to get a chance to practice some facilitation techniques.

What are the three role SOC 469A mentors have before and during Practice Dialogues?
1. To consult with other team members regarding their chosen topics for practice dialogues. You should see this as an active role, and should not just approve or disapprove, but should discuss the topic with the assigned facilitators,
2. During the dialogue in class, to bring up some of the alternative perspectives you’ve discussed with the practice facilitators.
3. Should one of the assigned practice facilitators be absent from their dialogue, you will step in as co-facilitator to the other student. Your primary role in the practice dialogues is to help make them as much like “real” dialogues as possible for the students facilitating.
