Thinking about what we say before we say it (take out the "bad" part of a message but keeping the "good")

During class when teacher is talking, in the hallway, at a library

Walk away, distract yourself with something else, say something kind in a positive voice (ex. "I am sorry you are having a bad day").

Not compare yourself to others, but instead express concern or ask questions.

You are in class and your teacher says, "6,7", but it's math and she didn't mean to tell a joke. How SHOULD you react?
Any appropriate response will do. (ex. Emotions - anger, sadness, anxiety, etc.)
You think a class assignment is "stupid" and not excited to complete it. How can you use your social filter?
Take a breath, calm down, take one item on a time at on the assignment and ask for help (in a positive way).
A classmate says something when talking about a subject in class that you disagree with. How do you use your social filter?
First calm down and say something like "That is your opinion, I see it differently. But we can agree to disagree".
