They were not always fair. What was written in the treaties was often different than what was talked about in the meetings. The First Nations people were given less than what they agreed to with their words.
Who were the Acadians? What happened to them?
Acadians were people from Acadia, one of the first French colonies in North America. When the British took over, they deported a lot of Acadians out of Acadia (forced them out of their land). This was known as the Great Expulsion.
