What were the framers of the Constiution worried about when creating the Constiution?

The framers of the Constitution were worried about the power of the government. They did not want a government that was too powerful, to the point of tyranny, but they also did not want a government too weak to handle issues. They wanted people to be able to express their opinions and have those represented, but also for there to be a central authority to rule.

Checks and balances are important because they distribute the powers of the government. This prevents government corruption and allows us to maintain our liberties, as it ensures no branch can act completely on its own.
