Confucian beliefs: Confucius teachings on family, respect, honor, honesty, and wisdom shaped Chinese society. believed that respect within the family would lead to respect within society. 

Buddhism: Buddha was once a prince who thought the people should give up selfish wants and desires in order to find peace. The Main goal was to reach Nirvana (the feeling of perfect peace and happiness). Spread to China by missionaries. Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha or enlightened one) was the founder. Most people in China, Japan, and SE Asia practiced Buddhism. 

Hinduism: Hinduism does NOT have one, single founder; it was a blend of many beliefs; oldest religion (3,500 years old) Main god, Brahman. Sacred text: the Vedas. Meditation and worship at shrines was practiced. Gandhi: important Hindu leader of India. Faithful followers of Hinduism would be reincarnated to a higher caste following this cycle: Birth into jail>> do your duty/follow your dharma>> created good karma >> be born into a better life/jati.
