What was the purpose of the Constitution?
To replace the Articles of confederation. They were too weak and needed more changes. Also the AOC gave little power to Congress.
What is the bill of rights?
The bill of rights are the first ten amendments that guarantee fundamental rights and protections.
What was the three branches of government?
1. the legislative branch (Congress)
2. he executive branch (headed by the President)
3.judicial branch (the federal courts)
What was the first three amendments?
1. The first amendment gives the people freedoms of speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition
2. The Second amendment gives right to bear fire arms (guns)
3. The third amendment prohibits the government from forcing people to house and feed soldiers in their homes during peacetime without consent.

Part 1. The Preamble – Introductory statement
Part 2. Seven Articles – establishes the branches of the federal government and describes their power
Part 3- Amendments – Improvements, corrections or changes to the constitution
What was the 4-6 amendments?
4. The 4th amendment protects individuals against unreasonable searches and seizures by the government
5. The 5th amendment makes sure individuals cannot be compelled to testify against themselves ,and A person cannot be tried twice for the same crime
6. The 6th amendment guarantees fair, prompt, and public trial
When did the the Constitution become effective?
The Constitution became effective on March 4, 1789, when the new government under the Constitution was launched.
When was the Constitution was drafted and ratifed?
The Constitution was drafted during the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 and was later ratified by the required nine states on June 21, 1788
