Macrosociology analyzes social life by focusing on the broad features of society, while microsociology analyzes social life by focusing on social interaction.

Working class parents often have jobs which require them to be conformists at work and report to a supervisor, leading them to stress obedience and conformity when raising their children. Middle and upper class parents often have jobs that require them to be more innovative, leading them to encourage creativity in their children. Upper class parents expose their children to the wealthy and powerful passing along cultural capital.
