My Soil Type
I am everywhere in Georgia. I'm red in color. I'm very hard when dry and sticky when wet. My particles are very tiny.
What is clay?
The topmost layer of soil.

I feel very rough. You can see my particles with your eyes. I'm very light in color and I'm bad at holding water for a long time.
What is sand?
The lowest layer of soil. It is made of solid rock. (The crumble cookie layer of the snack up).

The property the that describes how a rock/minerals feels to touch.
What is texture?
Farmers love using me for growing crops. I am a mixture of all the different particles.
What is loam?
The 2nd layer of soil. Made mostly of minerals. Most plant roots live here.
What is topsoil?
The property that describes if a rock/mineral is shiny or dull.

Clay is better for growing more plants than sand because of its ability to hold more water and because it has more....
What is nutrients?
This layer is lighter in color. Sand, silt, and clay have not been broken down all the way. Harder than the first two layers.
