These men help keep our campus safe
Safety Team (they might say security team, give points for that)- These are Sonlight dads who volunteer their time to help make Sonlight safe. They may address you or your student with questions or regarding missing nametags. Please be sure your students know to show them respect. We do allow concealed carry on your person, not in bags or purses. Please let the director know if you will conceal carry at Sonlight.
Class Changes are allowed until this date
The Monday after the first day of Sonlight. To request a class change, fill out the class change forms on the website and follow all the steps. The only changes allowed after September 1st will be moving to study hall for 6th-12th graders.

A small stud or hoop in the nostril is allowed (for females), but any other facial jewelry must be removed and/or covered while attending Sonlight classes. It is acceptable to wear a clear spacer in place of jewelry. Another change we have made is to the tattoo policy. Any tattoos that show by name or symbol illegal, immoral or unbiblical items, acts or images must be covered. Facial tattoos must also be covered while attending Sonlight classes.

False – Do NOT release students early. We will ring a bell, but you also can release students from class exactly on time. 55 minutes after the hour for morning classes and 30 minutes after the hour for afternoon classes
If you are a lead teacher and you will be absent, it is your responsibility to do this.
Find a sub to teach your class! Your classroom assistant would be the logical first person to ask, but she/he is not required to teach in your absence. Also, the appropriate Grade Level Coordinator needs to be notified by phone or email. Set up or cleaners ALSO need to find a sub for their responsibility
How can you register early?
By earning incentive points for registration. These points reward those who have a high level of commitment toward Sonlight. These are earned by serving on a committee, teaching additional classes, attendance, & meeting deadlines.

Can we use the church's classroom supplies or store items at the church?
NO! The church and Sonlight will NOT be providing supplies (markers, scissors, tape, etc). If your students need to bring these, they are listed as class supplies. Teachers must supply their own dry-erase markers & erasers. Do not store any classroom supplies in the storage room without permission from your grade level coordinator.
Notify these people if you or even just one of your children will be absent from Sonlight
The coordinators – It is important to notify the coordinators so that we aren’t looking for your child. Come to the coordinator table to let us know.

The class portal on the Sonlight website. The email forum in the class is the best way for teachers to communicate with all the parents and students. Jr high and High school teachers should use the class portal to post assignments and grades.
