What is the procedure for completing a chlorine water check?
Turn water on 15 minutes before check.
Let sample port run for two minutes.
Fill 100 mL sample cup and dump 3 times
Check strip exp. date.
Swish strip for 60 seconds, flick off excess water. Fold, check after 20 seconds. Must be below 0.1 ppm.
What is the proper call-in procedure if you need to miss work?
CALL my cell phone if it's the same day.
You can text me if it's before the day, but if you don't hear back, please call.
And PLEASE try to do it before the morning of. Hard to find staff.
Bonus points if you can find coverage for a shift you can't work through the support of other staff.

Pause treatment, turn of DFR, decrease BFR to 100, wait 15 seconds using clock, stop pump, clean red draw port with alcohol, draw lab.
For DPC staff, to whom do you report patient safety events?
RN, FA, Biomed (if applicable), doctor.
FA will report to necessary parties.
How many, and what people need to be present for water check?
Two- at least one RN and one other person.
What parts of the dialysis station need to be cleaned in between patients, end of day?
