In Buddhism, you must follow the eightfold path to reach enlightenment; you do not have to reach a certain caste.

Differences: 

-Buddhism does not believe in a supreme god, while Hinduism believes in a supreme force called Brahman. 

-Hinduism is based on 4 holy texts, while Buddhism is based on the 4 Noble Truths and the 8-fold path. 

-Following the 8-fold path leads to wisdom, enlightenment, & nirvana in Buddhism, while right behavior leads to good karma and reincarnation in Hinduism. 

Similarities: 

-Both believe that a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth touches every life.
