The largest thing we have studied in unit 3: Space Systems.
What is the Universe?
The direction gravity pulls on other objects.
What is inward?
Most asteroid are located in the asteroid belt which is located here.
What is between the rocky planets and the gas planets?
A star with planets orbiting around it.
What is the Solar System?
It gets its spiral shape from the gravitational pull of the supermassive black hole at its center.
What is the Milky Way Galaxy?
The smallest objects we have studied so far, there are eight that orbit our star.
What is a planet?
The two factors that affect the strength of gravity.
What are mass and distance?
These planets have no ring systems and few to no moons.
What are the terrestrial planets or inner planets?
A sphere of glowing gases.
What is a star?
Jupiter has more moons than Earth due to this aspect of the planet.
What is a larger mass and gravitational pull?
The second largest object we studied, it is held together by gravity.
What is a galaxy?
We see this pattern in both galaxies and solar systems because of gravity.
What is smaller objects orbit around larger objects?
The four outer planets are made of this.
What is gas?
A large object that orbits a star.
What is a planet?
This space object revolves around the sun and is composed mostly of ice with a dust tail.
Created by our two smallest objects in space, it is where we live in the Milky Way Galaxy.
What is the solar system?
Astronauts "moon walk" or walk by making short jumps because of this factor that affects gravity.
What is smaller mass?
These planets have larger diameters and longer revolutions.
What are the gas giants or the outer planets?
All of space and everything in it.
What is the universe?
The dwarf planet, Eris, is farther out in the solar system than Pluto. Based on this fact, it would have these two features.
What are a super long orbit around the sun and a very cold temperature?
Ranging in all different sizes, ours in of middle size and is half way through it's life.
What is a star?
We stay of the Earth instead of flying into the Sun because of what factor that affects gravity?
What is distance?
There are eight planets in our solar system that are in this order.
What is Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
A huge group of stars, solar systems, dust, and gas.
What is a galaxy?
Based on this image of the solar system, this is shown accurately: size and order of the planets, distance of the planets, or motion of the planets
What is the size and order of the planets?
