You should use your student ID to swipe open the dock doors at 7am in the morning Monday-Friday. Saturday and Sunday doors stay closed. Dock Doors will auto-lock at 5pm each day.

What is proper closedown procedure for Frisco Landing?

Lower the curtains and turn off the TVs. Make sure all side room are shut and locked. Put away tools or materials. Wait before closing the front door to allow Library Staff to clock out.

What should you do if you know you will be missing a maker shift? (2 parts)

1. Inform the supervisors

2. Make sure any appointments are covered and if they cannot be covered inform the patron via email.

The lower level (optimally in a stairwell).

Any and all on-shift Spark employees.

When can you take breaks, for how long, and what must you do before you go on break?

Breaks can be taken during a shift, but not in the first or last 15 minutes, and not as part of a walkthrough. You get one 15 minute break per 4 hr shift, or if you have an 8hr shift you can take one 30 min unpaid break. Should remove vest/overalls when taking a break.

Which desk shifts are responsible for processing holds?

Night shift, specifically shifts between 10pm and 6am.

Can maker equipment be checked out at 2am?

No. Makerspace items can only be checked out during makerspace hours.

Are patrons allowed to sleep int he library?

Yes, however if there is a reasonable suspicion that they may be living in the library an incident report should be made.

What is the difference between holds and bookings?

A hold is a reservation a patron can place on an item through the website which puts them in a waitlist for that item.

A booking is a reservation for a specific item during a specific time period. They are requested through the booking form and be processed and approved by clerks. They cannot be renewed.

What are the 3 3d printing services Spark provides and what are their functions?

Self Service: Trained users check out 3d printers and filament for 24hrs and machine operation/file management is up to the student.

Self Service+: Similar to self service students are responsible for machine operation, but students get access to larger printers and more filaments, printing costs $1 per hour unless prints are for a class (students email Sparkspace for waiver)

Premium Service: Patron submits prints through the website and prints are reviewed and produced by Spark Staff. Prints cost $1 per hour of print time.
