What biome is very hot in the day and very cold at night?

Desert.

100

What is a fossil fuel?

Prehistoric biotic material under sediment.

100

What are the 3 types of symbiosis?

Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism.

100

What is an example of a pioneer species?

Lichen and Mosses.

200

What are regions along coastlines where streams or rivers flow into a body of salt water?

Estuaries.
200

What is the amount of salt dissolved into water?

Salinity.

200
What is the step in the water cycle does water molecules come from the clouds?

Precipitation.

200

What are the 3 types of succession?

Secondary, Primary, and Aquatic.

300

What are the 4 types of forests.

Taiga, Deciduous, Tropical Rain Forest, and Temperate Rain Forest.

300

What is an ecosystem?

A community of living organisms.

400

What is the process of cells converting nutrients into usable energy? This process uses oxygen and releases carbon dioxide (CO2.)

Cellular Resperation.

500

What are the layers of the rain forest?

Emergent Layer, Canopy, Under-story, and Forest floor.

500

What is the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells? Name 1 example of each.

Eukaryotic-Single or multi celled organisms that does have a nucleus; E.G, Humans;

Prokaryotic-Single celled organisms that do not have a nucleus; E.G, Bacteria;

500

Explain how humans contribute to Eutrophication.

Fertilizer runoff causes water to become nutrient rich so algae grows. After this, the algae take oxygen from the water, killing other organisms. These organisms decompose lowering the depth of the water, eventually leading to an aquatic succession.
