Public performance and gallery initiatives allow our students to grow personally and serve to connect outstanding campus fine art programs to a great city, state, and nation. World-renown artists, conductors, clinicians, and consultants constantly make meaningful connections to our students in the classroom. Northside performing ensembles and student art work continue to be recognized at the state and national level.
What is Fine Arts (Theater, Art, Dance, and Music)

Services vary from campus to campus as plans are developed with the principal. Social services may include referrals for uniforms, bus passes and help with home utility costs, as well as weekend food packets for the students. Mentoring services are coordinated with UTSA and the community. This program assist with college and career awareness efforts at the high schools. Other services include case management, helping with parent involvement activities, school supplies assistance, and crisis counseling and support
What is Communities in School

No specific sports skills shall be taught and no specific sports equipment, such as balls, dummies, sleds, contact equipment, etc., shall be used. School shorts, shirts and shoes may be provided by the school (local school option). Sessions may be conducted from the first day of summer vacation until the second Monday in August. A session shall be no more than two consecutive hours per day, Monday through Thursday, and a student shall attend no more than one session of supervised instruction per day for a total of six weeks.

Some students, due to the severity of their disability, might have to leave the general education environment for a portion of their instructional day to receive very intense and specific instruction related to their IEP goals and objectives.

Funding is provided for before and after school, Saturday (some schools) and Summer (when funds are available) for academic assistance in the content areas.

Provides enrollment assistance, school supplies, school uniforms (if required), supplemental academic support (in the form of before or after school tutoring at target campuses), as well as information and referrals to community resources.

Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball In accordance to Section 1201, 1206 and 1209 regarding non-school competition (leagues, camps, clinics, clubs, tournaments, 7 on 7, lineman challenges) coaches: The C&CR prohibits the following: 1) Shall not instruct any student in 7th – 12th grade from his/her own attendance zone unless the student is his/her own biological or adopted child. 2) Shall not schedule matched games/scrimmages, practices, or contests. 3) Shall not transport students. 4) Shall not use school athletic equipment, school uniforms and school health/first aid supplies. 5) Shall not use school or booster funds for any expenses associated with the activity. 6) Shall not be the primary director. 7) Shall abstain from any practice which would bring financial gain to the coach by using a student’s participation in a camp, clinic, league, or other non-school athletic event, such as a rebate for each player sent to a particular camp or from each player using a particular product (Section 120l [b, 9]). 8) Shall abstain from any practice that makes a student feel pressured to participate in non-school activities (Section 120l [b, 10]). 9) Should not participate with their athletes in the athlete’s sport (Section 1206 [i])
What are Off Season and Non-School Participation Guidelines

In order to be eligible for this program, state law (Texas Education Code §29.153) requires that children must be 4 years old on or before September 1st and (one of the following) unable to speak or comprehend the English language (speak another language other than English)* or educationally disadvantaged—(eligible to participate in the National Free/Reduced Lunch Program) or homeless or come from a family whose parent or official guardian is "active-duty" military personnel or whose parent/guardian was killed or injured while on active duty. or have been in the conservatorship (foster care) of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing.
What is Pre-Kindergarten Program

Provides support services to teen parents to enable them to stay in school and work towards academic success. It is a drop out recovery and prevention program. Working through a case management model SAPP provides support services which may alleviate barriers teen parents face in obtaining their high school diploma.

Funds are provided for teachers in the Title I schools to receive professional development in the content areas to become effective, highly qualified professionals and paraprofessionals.

What is Adult and Community Education

The contest of competition may be held during any one week of the designated sport season (to be determined by each individual school). No exceptions will be allowed to NFHS or NCAA uniform rule. No jerseys or uniforms will be allowed for contest that do not represent the school colors. A commemorative ribbon of non-school color may be worn on the jersey or school-issued uniform. Officials may be allowed to use a colored whistle or modified uniform in accordance with UIL guidelines. Colored game balls will not be allowed, however they may be used during any warm-up period prior to the contest.

Students in these programs spend much of their time learning through a hands-on approach that prepares students for occupations and further study. These programs are available in middle school and high school and are available in many career areas of interest to students.
