Because England had many natural resources, a more modern form of government (some democracy), a population that needed jobs since they were no longer farmers, and, finally, because England had already taken control of large parts of the world and had an incredible amount of resources and power.

How did industrialization lead to imperialism?

Industrialized nations, like Britain, needed two things: raw resources, and markets to sell goods to. Imperialism satisfied those needs, as an industrialized nation would take over a weaker one for the raw resources and then force that weaker nation - now a colony - to buy from the industrialized one.
