Climb in the bluffs, goes at 5.7, behind Zombie Roof. Great first lead.

What is Laughing Crack?

Always the simple ones. One time, I pulled the rope down from Laughing Crack. It got suck. So I yanked it. Then I kept yanking and it was stuck. So I ascended it like a fixed line.

It wasn't a fixed line.

Don't assume something stuck will hold you!

We need this sensory organ to climb, but it never touches the rock. Without it, we wouldn't know where to place gear. Or, do we?

What are eyes? (Climbing with eyes closed!) What if you felt the rock instead of just looking? Think of it as, instead of overusing your hands, you use your legs. Instead of overusing your eyes, use your body. (Disclaimer: Don't kill yourself!)

Beautiful pillars of sandstone, will destroy your fingers and your gear

What is Indian Creek? (Splitter heaven!)

You should never take candy from a man in a van - especially if he lives in it full time!

This 2-word, rhyming phrase was taught to us as kids when we see people we don't recognize.

What is stranger danger?

Strangers in Tasmania, who invites me to their basement for a week = No danger

Stranger who asked to crag a few times, then go on a trip together = Danger

You never know! Sometimes people who are normal are weirdos, and people who are weirdos are normal. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Word scramble: Re-arrange these letters to find the correct word:

C P H A A O R P

What is the "approach"? (Mindful climbing and peace starts with a quiet approach. Are you respecting flowers?)

An island off the coast of Australia, famous for sea stacks such as The Moai, or The Candlestick

What is Tasmania? (The Moai!)

Sometimes when you need a topo, but you don't have a guidebook. It has better global climbing data coverage, not just in North America!

What is TheCrag?

Creeping people on TheCrag (Not even MountainProject)

Japan is beautiful climbing. But it's near IMPOSSIBLE to find someone to climb with if you don't speak Japanese. My way around it: creep people on the Crag, on climbs you want. They may be able to introduce you to someone who can help!

When you push through with power and motivation, rather than skill.

What is Brute Forcing?

Check if you're brute forcing. Sometimes the best way to get around is just release, fall, and not keep going. What does it say about your technique?

People come here for it's famous powder in the Winter, and delicious food year round. Secretly an awesome climbing destination.

What is Japan? (Jogasaki Coast!)

Touted as the best "first timer's multi pitch" but really, it's not.

It's really not.

And it's really run out.

What is Star Chek? (It's always Star Chek)

The one and only time I called Search and Rescue. It was my first multipitch, ever. Someone named Glen recommended it to me on Facebook. Don't listen to Glen.

TL;DR: Self rescue is always the best, if you can manage it! SAR didn't need to come after all.

Not in the past, not in the future. In the here and now.

What is the present moment?

How many times have you walked past the Smoke Bluffs, and not seen the plants, vegetation, or critters? How many times have you sent without really "seeing" the view? What if that shrub that you walk past everyday is also a miracle, but you're so focussed, you just don't care?

You'll find climbs called: RNWF, Astroman, Royal Arches, The Rostrum

You gotta climb the Rostrum. I repeat, you gotta climb the Rostrum!
